Semen Collection
TLG collects bovine and ovine semen for international and domestic markets. TLG undertakes the maximum level of industry accreditation to ensure that the product is of the highest quality. The company is accredited with the Certified Semen Services (CSS) - an affiliate of the National Association of Animal Breeders, USA - and as such, is the only centre outside of North America and Canada which can use the Certified Semen Services (CSS)» logo. Dr Shane Ashworth of TLG initiated this process of voluntary accreditation several years ago, inviting CSS to audit and advise on producing semen according to 'world's best practice'. To date, TLG enjoys several successive years of CSS participation.
Once your bull or ram has arrived at TLG, he will be housed individually according to his collection program and health status and regularly weighed during his semen collection program. He will be acclimatised to a safe, high energy ration and you can follow his progress in condition and production securely on the Internet.

The Ideal Environment
Due to both the location and design of the facilities, TLG's Camperdown location is one of few semen collection centres in Australia licensed to collect semen for the European Union and China. To accommodate the stringent requirements of these destinations, and to offer a cost-competitive program, there are two separate licensed semen collection centres. TLG offers the ideal environment as sires are exposed to a relatively consistent temperature throughout the year ensuring semen collection is not affected by extremes of heat or cold.

Semen Collection at Glenormiston
TLG's Glenormiston Collection Centre caters for those bulls which need not qualify for the European Union or China. A collection program conducted in accordance with the OIE's requirements for Bovine Semen Collection Centres and The Standards for Bovine Semen Collection Centres in Australia (SCARM) - as well as the CSS program - can be conducted at Glenormiston. Bulls at Glenormiston cannot be collected for the EU or China, however, this second centre allows us to offer a very competitive rate for bulls in collection for other markets.
Also at Glenormiston is the Sheep Semen and Embryo Collection Centre. Rams are isolated and housed at Glenormiston for semen collection in accordance with the OIE's small ruminant collection protocols and embryo donors can undertake a collection program that meets the importing requirements of the various countries of destination.
Lay-off facilities are secure, inexpensive and effective in maintaining the quarantined status of the animals whilst they await proof.
